Full Stack / Data Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a versatile and hands-on Developer / Data Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. You’ll work across application development, data architecture, and site reliability — solving complex problems, supporting production systems, and building the foundations for scalable internal and external data self-service through Microsoft Fabric and a Medallion architecture.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety — from writing performant C# code and automating infrastructure in Azure, to designing data flows, integrating AI/LLMs into solutions, and getting to the root cause of production issues when things go wrong.
You’ll be part of a small, high-performing team where ownership, curiosity, and initiative matter more than job titles.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Development: Build and maintain cloud-native applications and services using C#, .NET, and Azure.
Data Architecture & Fabric: Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft Fabric environments; establish Medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) data architecture for both internal analytics and external self-serve.
Site Reliability & Support: Act as 3rd-line support, diagnosing complex production issues across systems, cloud, and data layers.
Automation & Monitoring: Develop tools and processes for deployment automation, observability, and system reliability (e.g., pipelines, alerts, logging).
AI & LLM Integration: Prototype and integrate LLM-driven solutions to enhance self-service, analytics, or development efficiency.
Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver solutions end-to-end — from concept to production.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to technical standards, documentation, and architecture evolution.
Skills & Experience
Must-Have
Strong background in C# / .NET development (API design, backend systems).
Hands-on experience with Azure services (App Services, Functions, Storage, Service Bus, DevOps).
Strong understanding of data architecture and ETL/ELT pipelines.
Proven experience setting up Microsoft Fabric, Data Lakehouse, or Medallion architecture.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems and identify root causes.
Exposure to SRE principles (monitoring, incident management, resilience).
Familiarity with AI/LLMs (e.g., using OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or similar APIs).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to move from high-level strategy to hands-on delivery.
Experience in a startup or small-team environment, comfortable wearing multiple hats.
Nice-to-Have
Experience with Power BI, Delta Lake, Synapse, or Databricks.
Knowledge of Python or TypeScript for data or automation scripts.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, IaC (Terraform, Bicep), and observability stacks.
Strong grasp of security, compliance, and data governance principles.
Experience integrating AI-driven agents or co-pilots into developer workflows.
What Success Looks Like
Fabric and Medallion data architecture established for internal/external use.
Stable, observable, and performant production systems.
Rapid and confident troubleshooting of issues in live environments.
Measurable improvement in data accessibility and self-service analytics.
Thoughtful experimentation with AI and automation that improves team efficiency.
Attributes We Value
Curious, pragmatic, and proactive problem-solver.
Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change.
Communicates clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong sense of ownership — “if it breaks, you fix it.”
Passion for continuous learning and leveraging AI tools effectively.
